SPUNOUT SPORTS MENTAL HEALTH
During a graphic design internship with Spunout, Ireland's youth information and support platform, I developed a sports mental health campaign featuring GAA-partnered posters and social media content. Living in Ireland gave me a firsthand look at how deeply sports are woven into the country's culture and community life, and drawing on that experience alongside my own background in competitive sports, I began looking at mental health through that lens. Attending a GAA Gaelic football match made the connection concrete: seeing the passion and identity built around the sport made it clear that GAA specifically, not just sports in general, was the right anchor for the campaign, and that mental health had yet to become part of that conversation. Using SpunOut's collage-style, gradient-driven visual identity and doodles created by my advisor, I designed posters and social posts that stood out while reinforcing the brand.
The campaign would be featured across Dublin and surrounding towns, with posters placed at train and bus stops to reach commuters and near universities and secondary schools to target younger audiences, complemented by a social media push. I presented the campaign to the SpunOut team, who praised its cultural insight and strong alignment with the company's values.
